In his session, “Catersource Lunch & Learn: A Conversation with Chef Curtis Stone,” Stone will discuss the 2018 launch of Curtis Stone Events (CSE), spinning off from the live fire cooking and whole animal butchering format at Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant. Stone will delve into how the food landscape is shifting, how he’s remained at the forefront with the success of his Los Angeles restaurants – Maude and Gwen, and how he is maintaining the quality and integrity of the restaurant hospitality experience. The lunch and learn will take place on Monday, February 25, from 11:45am – 1:15pm in Great Hall A.
“With the launch of Chef Stone’s off-premise catering division, Curtis Stone Events, I knew he would be a game changing addition to the Catersource educational lineup. The off-premise catering market currently generates billions of dollars annually, making his experience a perfect fit for our attendees,” said Kathleen Stoehr, director of community & content strategy, Catersource. “By the time we get to Catersource in New Orleans, Chef Stone will have a full year on the books at CSE. Our attendees will learn so much from his journey and can apply his insight and lessons learned to their own event and catering businesses in the future.”
About Curtis Stone
Curtis Stone is a chef, restauranteur, author, media personality, and businessman. He began his cooking career at the early age of 18 and opened his first solo restaurant, Maude, in Beverly Hills in 2014. Stone opened his second restaurant, Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant, with his brother in 2016. Both restaurants have been honored with the top accolades, including Restaurant of the Year by Eater LA and Most Beautiful Restaurant in the Country in Eater National. Stone was named Chef of The Year 2016 by Eater LA, both Editor’s and Reader’s Choice, and received the first-ever Excellence in the Culinary Arts Award from the Australian Government.
With the success of Stone’s restaurants and growing demand for customized culinary experiences, Curtis Stone Events was launched in 2017. The full-service company designs and tailors personalized occasions while upholding standards of Maude and Gwen Butcher Shop, raising the bar within the live events industry.
