Ladies & Gentleman, the captain has put on the “fasten your seat belt sign”— drones are about to start serving food!
At the Exuberance Premiere (a luxury LGBTQ magazine) in New York City, Chef Franco Vitella, Franco Vitella Catererd Affairs, introduced a sleek LED drone passing tray to entertain and enhance the way guests received their party food.
In partnership with Jim Barns and the NJ Drone Academy, Chef Vitella presented
- Taco-bout a Drone
- Scone on a Drone
- Flying Saucers
- ButterFLY Shrimp
- Flying Dragon Popcorn
Chef Franco has catered some of New York’s most prestigious events. Known for his fun and interactive food stations, he has won “Most Creative Caterer” by the Special Live Events Society three times. Vitella also won Biz Bash’s “Most Creative Event” for the Broadway Show opening of Cry-Baby. Vitella created an oversized swan made of Spam paté, and hired “cafeteria ladies” to harass celebrities. This year, Vitella recreated the entire Lower East Side for a bar mitzvah, by fabricating storefront food stations. Does it come as no surprise that he is now working with drones?
Barns, n Federal Aviation Administration certified flight pilot, is the founder of Drone Academy, the first drone training school in New Jersey with the concentration on how to build, control, and program a drone. Together, Barns and Vitella created the ultimate event experience serving sliders on flying trays.
Not to lose the human touch of serving, after the chef places the food on the tray, Barns and other FAA certified pilots personally fly the drone to a landing pad where customers can take what they please.
