Most wedding planners know that a color palette is the best foundation to have while planning a wedding. And with summer wedding inspiration dominating the magazines and blogs right now, a wedding couple may be set on a summer color scheme for their fall wedding. Here are some of the best ways to transition color palettes from summer to fall.
Citrus
A citrus color scheme is the best way to make your client’s wedding pop. These juicy colors are great to incorporate throughout a summer wedding or use as a punchy contrast in fall or winter nuptials. Citrus tones on top of a whitewashed wedding perfectly sum up summer; or a shrubbery filled scene with citrus accent colors give fall vibes. Additionally, if you add wood elements to the bright yellows, oranges, and pinks, you can to neutralize the energy somewhat.
Pastel
Pastels are a lot more versatile than people may consider. The colors are lighter and can be used as a base color with metallic accents to make it brighter and perfect for summer. Conversely, by incorporating dark hues and gray tones, the color scheme of the wedding will transition more toward fall.
Blue
Something borrowed, something blue. It's a timeless tradition and the trend of a blue wedding is never-ending, no matter the time of year. It can be incorporated as a small but necessary detail on a hairpiece, or as prominent as the color for the entire bridal party. In the summer, use cerulean to match the cloudless sky, and deepen the shade as you head into fall.
Ombre
Ombre is an extremely popular color blending style for weddings. Depending on which colors your client wants to integrate, the wedding can transition easily from summer to fall. Choose which shade you want your ombre to start and end with: for a wedding with the heat of summer go for warmer tones, and as the temperatures cool so does the palette.
Whether you're a planner, calligrapher, or even caterer, you are bound to use the color scheme of your bride and groom's choice. Get creative and use these as inspirations to lean summer wedding colors toward fall.
