Inspirational speaker and artist, Erik Wahl will keynote Catersource & The Art of Catering Food
Catersource 2017 had just wrapped, and I was sitting in our conference area with colleagues, talking about keynote speakers. What makes a great keynote? Who had we seen previously that inspired us? And, how do you select a keynote that will resonate with a diverse audience of chefs and culinary specialists, event producers, owners, executives, sales, marketing, operations, and more? Ours is a highly creative industry but many of our “problem areas” mirror those of other businesses: retaining and hiring good staff, keeping an eye on the bottom line, engaging our clients, communicating with them properly, inspiring them.
Erik Wahl’s name came up.
We pulled up his website on the conference room monitor and watched his sizzle reel.
We knew we were onto something.
A couple of phone calls and emails later, we were cookin’ with gas and ready to sign him on!
Pulling from his history as both a businessman and an artist, Erik has been a featured TED presenter and his bestselling business book, UNTHINK, was hailed by Forbes magazine as the blueprint to actionable creativity. Erik is a disrupter who can “shock the fading pulse of an employee workforce.”
Graffiti artist, author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, we are delighted to bring Erik Wahl to Catersource 2018—and best (two things): the first 100 people in line for his keynote will receive a hard copy of his new book, The Spark and the Grind: Ignite the Power of Disciplined Creativity; PLUS the two paintings he creates live onstage during his keynote will be given away through various means (more to come on that!).
Who doesn’t need a little artistic inspiration and disruption to jumpstart 2018? I know an audience who does!

See you in Las Vegas!
