Metallics like gold, silver, copper and rose gold have become a staple in the events industry, but the way they are being presented is starting to evolve. Louise Beukes of B. Loved Blog explains, "We'll see more burnished metals making their way into wedding design, as the industrial look continues to grow.”
Beukes also predicts that the earthier patterns and textures that have been so prevalent this year will continue to resonate with couples, heightening the guest experience, “The inclusion of natural textures, with marble being the forerunner, is another trend that easily translates into weddings. From stationery to tableware and cakes to linens, this beautiful finish works wonderfully with the ballet, blush and rose gold trends too."

Linens
In the last several years, specialty linens have experienced a boom in events, being used as a way to enhance décor and tie a room together effortlessly. Elevated material full of new textures and patterns have emerged as favorites among couples, and will continue to into the upcoming year. “The textiles you'll see will have more complex weaves though not with pronounced, multicolor patterns like obvious florals or geometrics,” explains Youngsong Martin of Wilflower Linens. “Rather, we'll see brocades with subtle metallic highlights and also see the usual tone-on-tone effect enhanced with more texture-on-texture fabrications that add subtle 3D effects."

Desserts
Don’t forget, desserts can often be a focal point for any event, and couples are taking full advantage with jaw dropping designer desserts. "Multiple cakes with different textures, shapes and a variety of flavors in complementary colors are increasingly being requested," says Elizabeth Solaru of Elizabeth Cake Emporium.
Texture mixing can be a lot of fun and will create a more unique and interesting event that is sure to enhance the experience for everyone in attendance.
