Over the course of this era of Instagram-worthy, top-tier, heavy-on-the-contemporary-aesthetic wedding styles, we’ve seen rose gold, copper and gold tones treated like royalty. These elements create an understated sparkle without going overboard, and those reflective surfaces add a touch of effortless glam. Take the tablescape a step further by illuminating the décor with candlelight, using pewter charger plates to cast a romantic shine over the couple’s reception. The low lights will not only make the event feel more intimate, but they’ll make the chrome elements really glow!
Edible metallics
That’s right—edible glitter is the latest and greatest in surprising and delighting guests. We’re an especially huge fan of incorporating this into desserts, whether with a light dusting or a full-on ‘80s nostalgia coating of silver sparkles! We’ll see more decorated cupcakes, cake slices and blinged-out macarons.
Better yet, many couples are looking to add a bit a luxury to their food and beverage by enlisting the help of edible foil—normally seen in the way of gold leaf. These small accents can go a long way, and the mixing of metallics makes a huge statement.
Spotlight on crystals
More than just a pretty face, crystals are widely regarded for spreading positive energy and good vibes. These stones are most effectively used in juxtaposition with muted palettes. For example, amethyst paired with minimalistic linens or woven into a simple, yet elegant color scheme adds a nice pop while casting lovely light patterns all around the venue.
