Mardi Gras 2016 with a Twist

Mardi Gras is a party that is celebrated all around the world on the day before Ash Wednesday as a way to indulge before the start of Lent.  Also know as Fat Tuesday, this year we celebrate it on February 9th.   Traditionally, green, purple and gold, party décor using plenty of shiny beads and flashy masks are used to set the tone for the festive get together.  We suggest a new approach to a Mardi Gras table scape - taking it from predictable and ordinary to unexpected and extraordinary!

White Ostrich feathers in tall vases add height, and a whimsical texture to the table.  Candles are always an elegant and simple touch to any party. Everyone looks good in candlelight!

Many varied hues of purple were used to add a stylish play on the oblivious Madi Gras colors commonly used.  A charcoal silver sequin table runner added depth and allowed for the candlelight to bounce and sparkle.

“Jazz” it up in a true News Orleans style by using authentic instruments as table accents.  Various brass horns warm up the table and added a playful reminder of NOLA.

Make Mardi Gras special, make sure it is filled with love and laughter and share it!
