D’Amico Catering was Super Bowl Superstar

Hosting a baker’s dozen of events before and during Super Bowl LII, Minneapolis, MN’s D'Amico Catering kept its head in the game and its eyes on the ultimate goal—delivering fantastic food, innovative events, and spectacular service. The company has been in business for more than 30 years, catering some of the most significant cultural, corporate, and philanthropic events in the Twin Cities.
The organization delivered the goods for events including Rolling Stone Magazine’s Super Bowl Party for 1,500 guests (held in the same building as the Catersource office, so you can be certain we were keeping our eyes on that one as it set up), the NFL Players’ Trust Association VIP Party, the Facebook Tom vs Time Screening and Reception, and the Hyundai Super Bowl Reception.
Hometown advantage
Stations offered throughout these events included Minnesota hot dishes; carved meat including bison and elk offerings; and a Minnesota State Fair station. Other stand outs included a “Northwoods” station, Scandinavian fare, and a Minnesota dessert station featuring bars, s'mores, and mini pies.
Alcoholic libations included local Minnesota beer, wine, and spirits made by Prairie Organic Spirits, Tattersall Distilling, Vikre Distillery, Fulton Beer, and Lift Bridge Brewing Company.
Here's a look at some of the terrific stations and plating from D'Amico:
Uff da! Tater Tot Hotdish was a hit at the Minnesota Hot Dish station, which also included green bean casserole, chicken pot pie, and other comfort foods most recognizable from home kitchens of the previous century. Photo courtesy Noah Wolf
The Scandinavian station included citrus-cured char, orange and pickled Fresno chiles. Photo courtesy Noah Wolf
The Shawarma station featured chef served warm flatbreads with chicken, lamb, falafel, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber cubes, bell peppers, tzatziki, garlic aioli, hummus, tahini and tabbouleh. Photo courtesy Noah Wolf
Butler-passed hors d’oeuvres included deviled eggs...

The Hyundai event at the beautiful new northeast Minneapolis venue, Machine Shop was dressed up to the nines with food to match. Here's a look:

Steps from the Mississippi River, Machine Shop hosts a variety of events in its open, flexible space. Reopened in 2016 after its past as part of the Pillsbury A-Mill, once the largest working mill in the world, this historic machinery shop has been carefully restored, keeping the original 1916 architectural details intact, while introducing modern luxury in this industrial space.
The New Standards, a beloved Twin Cities trio comprised of musicians who first made names for themselves playing for other bands (The Suburbs, Semisonic, more) entertained guests well.
