Fall Design Ideas

With fall upon us, it’s exciting to plan up some gorgeous seasonal designs but sometimes it can feel overwhelming with all of the pinecones and pumpkins that seem to fill every tablescape from September to December.

Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to embrace the season without getting cheesy. The fall, of course, brings together gorgeous shades of red, orange, and yellow, but going overboard with the details can easily get out of hand. Be sure to get a good understanding of how far your clients want to go with the fall theme before diving into the event’s design.

Read on for some great fall design ideas!

Use the right colors

One of the best ways to really bring in that autumn feel is to pair metallic elements with rich fall colors. For example, bronze details like napkin rings or place cards are beautiful next to warm shades of burgundy and gold. Of course, there is no reason to restrict the design to only fall colors. If your clients are looking for something a bit different, opt for gem tones like rich ruby and deep sapphire, which can still create the dramatic feel of changing seasons without alluding to fall too much.

Source from nature

Although spring tends to get the reputation for the most blooms, fall florals are certainly remarkable in their own regard. The bolder hues are great for adding a pop to floral arrangements and can be a great way to incorporate seasonal décor. Not everyone is a flower person, though—if your clients are not so into blooms, consider adding succulents and fall leaves instead. Together, they make for a pretty spectacular tablescape!

Opt for fall activities

There is nothing quite like a campfire on a crisp autumn evening, right? Or do your clients love the idea of a hayride? Depending on the chosen venue, find a way to build in fun activities for guests to enjoy and truly embrace the feeling of fall. It could be a DIY “pumpkin patch” filled with favors or a mulled cider station—the possibilities are endless.

When in doubt, let the season (and clients!) guide and inspire you when planning and designing fall weddings.
