Recipe Friday: Holiday Cheers

Hot Apple Cider Punch

Yield: 6

Ingredients

4 ½ cups apple cider
2 ¼ cups spiced rum (non-alcoholic sub: chai tea)
2 ¼ cups cranberry juice
Cinnamon sticks
Orange

Method

  1. Bring apple cider to a boil. Stir together spiced rum, and cranberry juice.

  2. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and orang slices. Serve right away and ladle into glasses

Apple Grove Highball 

Yield: 1

Ingredients

1 ½ oz gin (substitute: green tea or a botanical forward non alcoholic alternative such as Seed Lip)
¾ oz lemon juice
¾ oz apple cider syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters
Ginger beer

Method

  1. Combine gin, lemon juice, apple cider syrup and aromatic bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until very cold

  2. Strain mixture into an ice-filled glass and top with the chilled ginger beer. Stir gently.

Woodland Whisper

Yield: 1

Ingredients

1 ½ oz Tequila Reposado (substitute: black tea)
¾ oz lemon juice
¾ oz blackberry sage syrup
1-2 dashes orange bitters

Method

  1. Combine tequila, lemon juice, blackberry sage syrup and orange bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until very cold

  2. Strain the mixture into an ice-filled glass.

Pumpkin Spiced Old Fashioned

Yield: 1

Ingredients

1 ½ oz chai infused whiskey
¼ oz vanilla Demerara syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters
1 dash orange bitters
Orange peel

Method

  1. Add the chai-infused whiskey, vanilla Demerara syrup, Aromatic Bitters and Orange Bitters into a mixing glass and stir until combined.

  2. Fill the mixing glass with ice, add the bourbon, and stir until well-chilled.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.

  4. Express the oil of an orange twist over the glass, then drop into the glass to garnish.
