Venues
Indoor venues, such as Culinary Capers’ Waterview Special Event Space, are making a comeback, and in 2018 couples will be reclaiming indoor spaces for their weddings. The positives include not having a single worry about the weather!
Florals
Suspended arrangements are in for 2018 weddings. Couples are keeping their guest tables simple and focusing more on ceiling treatments. For an understated centerpiece, one idea that will be popular for 2018 wedding reception tables is a small cluster of vases with just one or two types of flowers.
The aesthetic is moving away from rustic and more toward a woodsy look.
Also, “living bars” will be going strong for 2018. The bar pictured is made with boxwood.
Food & beverage
Unique food is a priority. Couples want to present their guests with a new food experience, or one that resonates with their personal style. On the menu for 2018 wedding trends are interactive and fun food stations featuring global street food such as bao buns, farm-to-table dinners featuring locally grown food, and creative desserts like boozy milkshakes.
Wedding cakes
The woodsy aesthetic is carrying over to cakes where Culinary Capers anticipates seeing lots of fresh florals and greenery adorning cakes. Buttercream makes for the perfect blank canvas for the florals.
