Wedding and Business Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

From commuting to making dinner to walking the dog, podcasts have become an integral part of our day-to-day activities. They're entertaining, educational, and keep us engaged with virtually any topic under the sun. For busy, on-the-go creative entrepreneurs, podcasts offer a way to consume inspirational material without having to carve out a lot of time from one's schedule.

Not surprisingly, many wedding and event professionals seek out podcasts that help them grow their businesses and become better at their craft. As the world of audio wedding media evolves, we asked industry pros to share their favorite podcasts so you can add them to your listening list.

How I Built This

Recommended by: Nora Sheils, founder of Bridal Bliss and co-founder of Rock Paper Coin

Why Nora loves it: "I love How I Built This because it is incredibly inspiring. It incorporates some well-known brands I've used myself and tells the story of how they came to be, what obstacles they overcame and what their mindset was. I've learned quite a bit, but it's also a good reminder that all good companies were founded on hard work, dedication, and brilliant ideas. Many of the episodes are rags to riches stories where the founders put everything on the line and succeeded.  Also, almost everyone also ran into a big obstacle and figured out a creative solution. I highly recommend it!"

Talk with Renee Dalo

Recommended by: Sarah Blessinger, owner and lead planner of Kindred Wedding Events

Why Sarah loves it: "When you listen to Talk with Renee Dalo, it's like having a real heart to heart with a friend who is not going to put up with any shenanigans or BS! Renee shares all sides of a subject and leaves no option unturned, and always is there with implementable and actionable steps to take. Her current experience as a wedding planner in Los Angeles gives her an amazing perspective on what it takes to run a business during the wedding boom."

Unf*ck Your Biz

Recommended by: Amber Anderson, owner of Heavenly Day Events

Why Amber loves it: "Unf*ck Your Biz is a great podcast for wedding pros because "business" is not our forte. Any time I've heard Braden teach or answer questions in live Q&As, I learn so much. He has a way of making harder things simple and easy to understand. Braden's energy is contagious, and as such, he really motivates listeners into action."

Gather Geeks by BizBash

Recommended by: Loren Petrowski, owner of Marry You in Hawaii

Why Loren loves it: "This one is great because it is an all-around events podcast and not just for weddings. The host, David Adler, and founder of Biz Bash, asks great questions and really gets to the heart of what is important right now. The speakers are international, so you learn what's happening around the world, and not just in the US."

Refine for Wedding Planners

Recommended by: Renée Dalo, owner and lead planner for Moxie Bright Events

Why Renée loves it: "Amber is the perfect blend of firecracker and empathetic thought leader. She keeps it REAL - she's never afraid to say the thing that most of us are thinking, and each episode is chock full of actionable content, and she packs so much into every short episode. These days, no one has time for a 90-minute show! With Amber's brilliant brain, all you need is a few minutes to change your business for the better. No fluff, no BS, just real talk about the real issues and challenges every Wedding Planner faces."

Weddings for Real

Recommended by: Renée Sabo, owner of Urban Soiree

Why Renée loves it: "Megan, the host of Weddings for Real, is so thoughtful and provides incredibly tangible tips for wedding professionals."

This Week in Weddings

Recommended by: Bri Marbais, bridal stylist for The Bridal Finery

Why Bri loves it: "This Week in Weddings serves as an ongoing support group and ally for all wedding professionals. This podcast offers different perspectives and insights from all aspects of the wedding industry. Kimberly & Annie, the two co-hosts, strive to continuously bring forth current and constant useful tips and tricks for wedding pros."

As for us, we love listening to Inclusively Yours, where host and Love Inc. editor, Brittny Drye, provides soonlyweds with tips and advice for navigating the planning process through candid conversations with wedding pros.

Of course, we also love tuning in to Candid Conversations by Catersource and The Special Event, which features industry innovators and thought leaders that share their secrets to success in catering and events.

It's worth noting that podcasts aren't just for listening—they're also a great way to build your brand awareness as a guest on your favorite shows. Got a favorite podcast you tune into regularly? See if they accept guest submissions and put yourself out there!
