Cocktail Cateriing
4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4
Over the past 20 years the world of bartending has changed drastically in almost every aspect, except one, Catering.
While cocktail catering has remained largely unmoved by the craft cocktail movement, we are finally seeing companies around the world produce amazing things that most bartenders would never have imagined possible from a mobile bar service. These companies show us that it is possible to provide truly unique experiences beyond linen covered folding tables and batched cocktails.
Although catering presents a promising alternative to opening a restaurant, executing a successful mobile bar service does not come without certain obstacles. As caterers, we face many unique challenges that a traditional brick and mortar bar does not. Absence of running water, time-restrictions, space and location variations, storage restrictions, and transient staff. While these are indeed severe challenges that have previously restricted us from providing the type of service our clients enjoy as guests at their favorite local bars, The Cup Bearer has identified various techniques and methods for navigating around these issues, turning these restrictions into a creative advantage.
