"We are thrilled to have Chris join The Classic Catering People team and are excited to tap into his vast insights and experiences,” said Harriet Dopkin, co-owner and president of The Classic Catering People. “With more than three decades of industry experience, he knows every aspect of the business, and we look forward to using that knowledge to expand our reach and find new ways to impress our clients.”
Prior to joining The Classic Catering People, Meaker served as president and COO at Fig and Olive Restaurants in New York. Throughout his 30 years in the industry, he has held high-impact leadership roles at companies throughout the U.S. and Canada, including Service Inspired Restaurants in Toronto and the Luxury Dining Group in New York. He was also the leader of the corporate food and beverage team at BF Saul Hospitality Group in Bethesda, Md., where the development of people within catering and banquets was in the forefront of strategies and focus.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to collaborate with all members of The Classic Catering People team, from leadership, to the culinary team and account executives," said Meaker. “The Classic Catering People has been an established caterer in Maryland for decades, and I look forward to working on existing projects and expanding Classic’s clientele, all while maintaining the excellent service Classic is known for.”
As a native Canadian who has lived in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, Chris was exposed at an early age to appreciate and love the food and cultural melting pots in those great cities. He brings that same love and appreciation with him in everything he does, and is an active participant who leads by example in all things food, beverage and service.
